Kick Off the Fall Season on Nantucket with these Fun Activities
Nantucket in the Fall is simply gorgeous. With its golden foliage, quiet cobblestone streets, and many attractions, Nantucket is the place to be this fall. Visiting during the fall season is the perfect time to explore the island. There are not as many tourists, and it is as beautiful in the fall as it is in the summertime. If you're planning a trip this fall don't miss out on these fun Nantucket activities.
Nantucket Cranberry Festival
The Nantucket Cranberry Festival at Nantucket Conservation Foundation's Milestone Cranberry Bog is a popular Nantucket event for all ages. For safety reasons this year, rather than a one-day event, the Nantucket Conservation Foundation will be holding a series of events throughout October celebrating the Nantucket Cranberry Festival. "Cranberry Month" will kick off on October 9th. The Nantucket Conservation will be selling the 2021 cranberry harvest at the farmer's market. Throughout the month, there will be self-guided tours through Milestone Cranberry Bog where you can learn about the history and cranberry operations!
When the summer tourists clear out and the island quiets down, Cisco Brewers is a fun place to visit. Celebrate the start of Autumn with fall-themed eats and drinks at Cisco! Try fall-flavored treats from local food trucks and taste hot apple cider and pumpkin-flavored beer. Bring your friends and family to experience a fun fall activity everyone will love!
Sustainable Nantucket Farmers and Artisans Market
Every Saturday through mid-October, find your way to the farmers market for local goods. Choose from locally grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, fresh coffee, and more! Don't forget the hand-crafted pottery, jewelry, and other handmade crafts. This is a fun way to explore Nantucket's local businesses and treat yourself to some awesome treasures.
Hike Nantucket Trails
Nantucket is home to many walking and hiking trails with breathtaking views. Fall is the best time for hiking because of the cool and comfortable temperatures. There is no need to worry about the summer heat. The Nantucket Conservation Foundation has many trails to check out for a relaxing hike this fall. Don't forget to bring your water and camera!
