Summer 2021: 5 Things Not To Miss This Summer On Nantucket

Although the island may be slightly different this summer due to the pandemic, Nantucket Island is still a place you can't miss this summer. Even with restrictions, the island stores will be alive and buzzing! Here are a few of my favorite things to do in the summer - they are not to be missed on your summer vacation!

'Sconset Bluff Walk

Starting on Front St in Sconset, this marked path features picturesque views of the east coast of Nantucket (and its Cliffs!) on one side, and beautifully maintained and manicured homes on the other. This public bluff walk takes you through the backyards, gardens and overlooks of some of the island's most stunning views. Ocean views, blooming flowers, and a walk on Nantucket: Definitely one of my favorites!

Swim Across America

Swimming is one of my favorite ways to stay active and this event really gives back to the Island community. On July 24th this open water swim at Jetties Beach raises money to support cancer treatment and patient care on Nantucket. Swimmers raise money all spring and summer, so look out for fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, or even sign up to swim a half or full mile!

Madaket Sunset

I'm sure you have heard about Nantucket's legendary sunsets, and the best place to view these are on the west side of the Island. Madaket beach is one of the best places to watch, bring a beach blanket and your favorite people and watch the sun and sea meet in an explosion of color! Madaket Millies is also only a few steps away, grab some of their tacos to go for a full sunset beach picnic.

Lobster Bake

Sayle's Seafood makes having your own at-home lobster bake easy! Pick up a lobster dinner of fresh and fully prepared lobster, chowder, potatoes, and corn. Grab a bottle of wine and head to your favorite beach or backyard for the perfect summer night!

Yoga Festival

The Nantucket Yoga Festival is a great weekend full of Yoga, wellness, and healthy living. Although it was canceled last year, the festival is scheduled for July 9-11 2021! Whether it be in person or virtual, this restorative event is something to look forward to!

There are so many exciting things happening and things to do on the island this summer! Reach out if you are looking to plan a trip to the island, I would love to find the perfect home for you.
